Since its humble beginning, Lohmann Tierzucht says it has developed in the last 50 years into becoming a leader in the world market.
In 1959, the first “HNL Nick Chicks” were hatched in Cuxhaven and sold to forward-looking franchise hatcheries.
The year of 50th anniversaries, Layer Breeding and Veterinary Laboratory, reached a celebrative high with the 47th Franchise Hatchery Meeting held in Wuerzburg, South Germany at the end of September.
A total of 345 participants from 41 different countries were treated to informative lectures by experts at Lohmann Tierzucht and other specialists in the field.
The main topics included a review of 50 years layer breeding, the current situation and prospects in layer breeding, sexing in the egg and feeding strategies for the future.
Practical reports were presented by speakers from Colombia, Egypt, Japan, Russia and Saudi Arabia on their success with layers from Lohmann Tierzucht, received special attention.
