Ukrainian agricultural holding MHP, currently the largest producer of poultry in the country, produced 546,500 tonnes of poultry in 2014, according to MHP’s official report. This is an increase of 15.6% compared with 2013, when MHP produced 472,800 tonnes.
MHP also announces that it will further increase its production capacities. “MHP is currently implementing an investment project for the expansion capacity for the production of poultry meat on the Vinnytsia poultry farm. Until the end of 2014 we were planning to complete the construction of the first stage, designed for the production of 220,000 tonnes of poultry meat per year” says MHP.
440.000 tonnes
In 2014 the company received a loan from the European Investment Bank, worth €85 million. According to the CFO of MHP, Victoria Kapelyushnoy, these funds will be used for the construction of the second stage of the Vinnytsia poultry farm, which will boost its annual production capacity to 440,000 tonnes of poultry meat within the next couple of years.
The Vinnytsia poultry farm is designed to be the largest poultry farm in Europe. The increase in production is necessary to keep up with growing exports of poultry, to – amongst others – countries in the European Union. Ukrainian export in 2014 has been growing much faster than domestic sales.
