McDonald’s has opened up a US poultry facility to the Moms’ Quality Correspondents group to provide some transparency in the production of its chicken products.
The group visited Keystone Foods, which has been supplying chicken to McDonald’s since 1969, and also the fast food giant develop its first Chicken McNuggets.
The moms met with McDonald’s supply chain and quality assurance teams, as well as staff from Keystone Foods, learning different aspects of food quality and safety protocols, including traceability and animal welfare practices.
The group also then went on to take a look at a production facility and saw how the McDonald’s supplier handles the meat that goes into Chicken McNuggets.
