New Zealand factory recalls chicken due to testing error

Santa Rosa, a Christchurch based chicken factory is recalling thousands of read-to-eat smoked chicken products because they were not tested properly for listeria.

According to the company the recall is a precautionary measure and there have been no reports of people becoming ill from eating the products.

The products affected are all ready-to-eat Santa Rosa smoked chicken products with batch numbers between 5206 and 5559.

Customers with affected product should return it to the retailer where they purchased it for a full refund.
