Nova Scotia gives Berwick poultry plant $1 million
The Nova Scotia government is investing C$1 million (€774,300) to help an Annapolis Valley poultry processor increase productivity.
Nova Scotia’s Productivity Investment Progam, created to help businesses in the Maritime province become more productive, allocated the money to Eden Valley Poultry, who will use the it to buy cutting-edge poutry processing equipment. The company is spending C$40 million (€30.96 million) towards renovating a Berwick facility that was closed last year.
When complete, the new plant will employ up to 200 people and have the capacity to process 40 million kilograms of poultry annually.
