According to a state laboratory, two ducks found dead near Munich in southern Germany have been tested positive for the H5N1 bird flu virus. The third duck was contaminated with a milder strain.
The three ducks were found near Speichersee at a lake northeast of Munich, said a spokeswoman for the Friedrich-Loeffler-Institut, Elke Reinking. The surrounding area will be searched for any other dead birds.
