Ovostar Union, one of the leading producers of eggs and egg products in Ukraine increased egg production by 14% during the period January-September 2014 compared with the same period of 2013.

The sales of eggs during the same period rose by 20% – up to 493 million pieces. The average price of eggs during this period was 16% higher than in 2013. As of September 30, the total stock of poultry of Ovostar Union has grown by 20% year-on-year to 5.3 million heads, including stock of hens – to 4.3 million, while on the end of September of 2013 this figure was amounted to 3.7 million.

The group also reported that in January-September it processed 16.6% more eggs than in the same period of the previous year – 232 million pieces. This fact allowed the company to increase sales of dry egg products by 5%, to 1,193 tonnes.

At the same time, export of egg production in the same period rose to 582 tonnes or 27% year-on-year. Sales of liquid egg products decreased by 9% compared with the same period of the previous year to 4,520 tonnes “due to the temporary reduction in demand for liquid products in the eastern regions of Ukraine,” the report of the company stated.
