Leah Cochran Mulcahy has joined the USA Poultry and Egg Export Council (USAPEEC) as its new deputy director of communications.
Mulcahy will work closely with USAPEEC’s Vice President of Communications Toby Moore, as well as President Jim Sumner on industry communications and special projects.
“Mulcahy comes to USAPEEC with a distinctive background,” Sumner said. “She has experience in international trade, marketing, and communications, spanning state and federal government, trade associations, and the private sector which will add to the strength of our team.”
Mulcahy has 12 years of experience working in international marketing and communications. Most recently, she was senior account manager at The Reynolds Group, an Atlanta boutique public relations firm, where she was responsible for agriculture and commercial real estate accounts.
Previously, she was an international trade specialist with the Foreign Agricultural Service of USDA in Washington, as well as international marketing manager at the US Potato Board in Denver. Mulcahy has also worked as a communications manager at an Atlanta commercial real estate firm and consultant to various US agricultural trade associations. She began her career at the Georgia Department of Agriculture as an international trade specialist in 2000.
A native of the Atlanta area, Mulcahy holds a master’s degree in international business from American InterContinental University and a bachelor’s degree in international affairs from Kennesaw State University.
