GFN, the new joint venture between Japan’s Nichirej Foods and GFPT in chicken processing operations, is to begin in August.
Under the terms of the new joint venture, GFN will begin slaughtering 20,000-30,000 chickens a month, starting in August. In October this figure will increase to 70,000 birds, with the addition of 2 more processing lines, making a total of 7, to increase production capacity by 20-25%.
The new production lines will serve orders from McKey Food, the joint-venture owned 49% by GFPT.
Animal feed sales contribute 34% to GFPT’s revenue while 59% is from processed chicken and other processed meats.
