QL Indonesia, a joint venture between Malaysian based QL Resources Bhd and Indonesian based CV Trimitra, has been successful this year in increasing the production of eggs according to the company’s target.
In the first quarter, egg production of QL Indonesia reached 15 tonnes per day. In the second quarter, production increased to 20 tonnes per day, then in the third quarter, it increased to 30 tonnes per day. “In the fourth quarter we expect production could reach 35 tonnes per day,” says the COO of QL Indonesia, Cecep Moch Wahyudin.
Wahyudin said that this year QL Indonesia increased the population of its laying hens up to 60% of the total cage capacity of 1.6 million birds. “Next year we are targeting to produce chicken eggs as much as 50 tonnes per day.
The population of laying hens will be increased to 100% of the total cage capacity of 1.6 million birds,” he revealed.
The majority of eggs produced by QL Indonesia are sold to bakeries and retail.
