Russia increases its production of poultry meat

For the first nine months of 2014 Russia increased the production of poultry meat by nearly 9.3% year-on-year, according to official statistical data.

In September 2014, Russia produced 325,600 tonnes of poultry meat and offal – 2.9% more than in the previous month, and 12.6% more than in September of the last year.

According to numerous studies the margin in poultry production in Russia today is it’s highest ever, due to the rapidly rising prices for poultry production in retail. Since the middle of the year the prices jumped by nearly 25%.

The total volume of poultry production in 2014 is projected at 3.8 million tonnes, which would be 10% higher than in 2013.
