Russia issues poultry import permits
Russia has started issuing meat and poultry import permits for 2007 on Monday.
“We are issuing import permits to countries, whose
veterinarian services guarantee safe supplies,” service Federal Veterinarian and Phytosanitary Control Service head, Sergey Dankvert. He said Latin American countries are included among the future suppliers. Dankvert made no comments on the EU meat problem.
Russia will import 28,300 mt of fresh and refrigerated beef, 440,000 mt of frozen beef, 484,800 mt of pork, and 1,171,200 mt of poultry in 2007.
