Russia: New poultry complex completed in Lipetsk Oblast

JSC Chicken Kingdom, one of the largest poultry producers in Russia, has almost finished the construction of a new poultry complex to house 2 million broilers.

The facility in the Dankovsky region of Lipetsk Oblast, is expected to be one of the largest poultry complexes in the central Russia, said Nikolai Tokmakov, the head of the regional government.

According to a report, the total investment cost of the project amounts to RUB 830 million (US$ 20 million).

“Construction of the project is almost completed and launching of the poultry houses is planned for November 13,” said Tokmakov.

“The poultry complex in Lipetsk Oblast consists of 56 bird houses. In total the complex is located on the territory of 5.6 million square meters. Today it is the largest enterprise for raising broilers in Russia,” representatives of the project stated.

The poultry complex of Chicken Kingdom in Dankovsky region is a part of the large agro-industrial complex which the company is building. This agro-industrial complex will include several feed mills, the meat-processing capacities and packaging plants. The total cost of the project amounts RUB 23 billion (US$ 560 million).
