Russia puts restrictions on Dutch poultry: cites H7N7 outbreak

Rosselkhoznadzor, Russia Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance, has announced a blanket restriction on the import into Russia of all poultry and poultry products, and equipment originating from the province of Utrecht, the Netherlands.

The Federal service cites the outbreak of LPAI H7N7 on a farm in the Dutch province of Utrecht as the reason for installing the import ban.

Due to the outbreak of avian influenza subtype H7N7 in the province of Utrecht (the Netherlands), the following temporary import restrictions have been introduced:

  • live poultry,
  • hatching eggs,
  • down and feathers,
  • poultry meat and all types of poultry products which were not subject to heat-treatment (not less than 70°C),
  • feeds and feed additives for poultry,
  • as well as previously used equipment for management, slaughter and cutting of poultry.

The restrictions apply only to the province of Utrecht, the Netherlands.
