Aviagen recently held its second European Veterinary Forum, where the discussion centred on responsible antibiotic use and recent developments in microbiology.
This meeting included veterinarians who support the health and welfare of Aviagen stock across Europe as well as members of the internal Aviagen veterinary team. It provided an ideal platform to discuss the latest health challenges in the European and global poultry industry. Top of the agenda for the 24 attendees was responsible antibiotic use and developments in microbiology.
Other topics included an update on bacterial characterisation work, case reports by participants on current local disease challenges and an update on R & D and future performance expectations from UK Breeding Programme Director Jim McAdam.
Bill Stanley, Veterinary Health Director Europe, said:
“These events are a vital part of our customer support. We recognise the importance of sharing knowledge and experience and this forum allows opportunities for feedback, networking and sharing knowledge which will ultimately improve performance across our European operations.”
