Russia produced 276,000 tons of poultry meat in carcass weight in February 2014, which is 4.7% more than was produced in February 2013, according to data published by the Russian Federal Statistic Service (Rosstat).

In the first two months of the year, the industrial production of poultry meat in Russia rose compared to the same period of 2013 by 3.7%.

It is noteworthy that regions in Russia show different figures of growth of poultry production. In absolute and relative terms, the leader is the Volga Federal District (15,500 of growth tons in carcass weight or 16.7 % compared toJanuary-February 2013). The second place in terms of pace of growth of the poultry industry is the Central Federal District which increased poultry production by 5,900 tonnes or 2.8% on year-to-year comparison.

Among the subjects of the Russian Federation the biggest rise in poultry production during the first two months of this year has been recorded in the Kursk region (9.4 tonnes of carcass weight compare to the same period of the last year), the Republic of Mordovia (+5,000 tons) and Chelyabinsk region (+4,300 tonnes).
