Turkish egg production up 16.8% in 2012

Poultry production statistics released by Turkstat, Turkey’s statistical agency, have shown that egg production is up 16.8% from last year.

The statistics represent data gathered from poultry establishments, and exclude farm production.

Egg production: 1,2 billion units
Egg production increased 1,9% in July when compared to the previous month and increased 16,8 % when compared to the same month of the previous year.

Slaughtered chicken: 101 million units
Number of slaughtered chicken increased 8% in July when compared to the previous month and increased 11,6% when compared to same month of the previous year.

Chicken production: 163, 806 tonnes
Chicken production increased 4,1% in July when compared to the previous month and increased 9,5% when compared to same month of the previous year.
