During the first quarter of 2014 the volume of chicken meat exported by MHP, the largest poultry producer in Ukraine, increased by 31% and reached 30,370 tonnes, compared to 23,200 tonnes in first quarter of 2013, according to the representatives of the company.
It is noteworthy that the growth has been achieved even despite decreased, and in fact completely banned, exports to the Custom Union of Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan.
This decrease has been compensated by the significantly increased export sales to the Middle East, Asian, African, EU and to some CIS countries, diversifying export markets, representatives exlpained.
As a result the total sales volume of chicken meat to third parties in the first quarter of 2014 increased by 22% reaching 112,270 tonnes of compared to 91,720 tonnes during the same period of 2013. Domestic sales volume increased by 20% while the overall production volume rose by 30% on year-to-year comparison.
The company stated that it is not affected with the Ukraine crisis and all its assets operating normally. The market price during the first quarter of 2014 almost didn’t change decreasing by 4% on year-to-year comparison.
