In order to help restore the supply of Ukrainian poultry to Kazakhstan, Ukraine has stepped up food safety checks on enterprises dealing in poultry meat production.
Currently, the State Veterinary and Phytosanitary Service of Ukraine have suspended exports of poultry products from JSC Poultry Myronivska to Kazakhstan. There will be an investigation to determine the circumstances.
Additionally, checks will be carried out because it is likely that during transportation or customs clearance, broken packages could be delivered or temperature during transportation through the territory of Kazakhstan could hamper products.
Ukraine is passing strict veterinary and phytosanitary control on all products that are being exported.
Recently representatives of Ukraine poultry production businesses claim that the restrictions of Kazakhstan will seriously hit local businesses. In addition, Kazakhstan is part of the Custom Union with Russia and Belarus and according to the existing trade agreements both these countries could also stop importing poultry from Ukraine, until the investigation is resolved.
Experts said that in such a situation Ukraine has to fight to restore export of poultry to Kazakhstan as soon as possible, before this measure negatively affects the profitability of the poultry industry.
