Ukrainian enterprises have obtained the permission to export poultry meat to Saudi Arabia, concluding two years of negotiations.

Ukrainian manufacturers expect that this approval will allow the country to boost the volume of poultry meat and eggs delivery to the Middle East, the head of the Ukrainian Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food, Aleksey Pavlenko stated.

A reliable trading partner

Along with the permission granted from the Saudi authorities to supply poultry meat, Pavlenko also said that the government of Saudi Arabia sees in Ukraine a reliable partner for future cooperation in the area of agriculture.

During the eight months of this year the export of Ukrainian agricultural products to Saudi Arabia amounted to US$ 246.3 million.

EU poultry exports

The Ukraine has also recently seen a rapid growth of poultry exports to European Union (EU).

“We are seriously increasing exports of food production to Europe. In particular, the supplies of poultry rose three-fold, to US$ 27.3 million in the first half of 2015 compared to the same period last year. As for egg products – in the first half of 2014 these products were not exported, while in the first half of 2015, a volume amounting US$ 4.5 million has been supplied” he concluded.
