Poultry gut health, welfare and sustainability – EuroTier seminars now on demand!

Poultry gut health, welfare and sustainability – EuroTier seminars now on demand!

How to enable the bird’s gut to perform optimally, and how to strive towards sustainability and enhance welfare were the themes of the 2 seminars hosted by Poultry World at EuroTier.

On different stages throughout the exhibition, Poultry World’s Misset International Publishers organised no less than 8 seminars covering the most important aspects of livestock and feed production.

Gut health seminar

Ensuring that the gut of our birds performs optimally is essential for sound poultry production. That is why this theme was brought to the Eurotier showground by Poultry World. A line-up of 4 speakers shared their knowledge and expertise on this important subject. Knowing that feed-related costs accounts for 70% of total costs, we have to make sure that digestion is ideal!

Speakers:

  • Ellen van Eerden, poultry nutrition researcher, Schothorst Feed Research
Formulating low crude protein diets in the context of gut health in poultry
  • Antoine Meuter, global product manager, Poultry, Novonesis
Gut microbiome robustness, the road to sustainable success!
  • Dr Alain Riggi, global species manager. Poultry, Phileo by Lesaffre
Efficient management of dysbiosis with a triple-strain probiotic
  • Alexandra Witte, sales manager, Feed Additives, Denkavit
    Bringing value to poultry farming

Sustainability and welfare seminar

Sustainability and welfare are 2 words, 2 themes, often used in one sentence. Sometimes they are at a conflict of sorts, but both are important for our license to produce, on the one hand, and our profitability, on the other. Our 4 seminar speakers help to meet and exceed sustainability and welfare demands, ensuring welfare while growing birds as efficiently as possible.

Speakers:

  • Dr Katy Tarrant, professor at Fresno State Animal Sciences and Agricultural Education, and director of the Center for the Optimization Of Poultry
A structured approach to welfare, a multi-stakeholder effort that can and should continuous improve using key welfare indicators
  • Marina Panheleux, head of Group Innovation at CCPA Group
The CCPA environmental approach to support the sustainability of the poultry industry.
  • Tim Burnside, global vice president, Welfare, Sustainability & Compliance, Aviagen Group
Decades of breeding for welfare and sustainability
  • Dr Narender Reddy, CEO of Natural Remedies
NR-SBP – The new age phytogenic beyond zootechnical practices for sustainability and safety.

As knowledge is king and one is never done learning, Poultry World will organise a new series of seminars at VIV Asia. Keep an eye on our website and join our seminars on feed cost reduction and on the power of enzymes in Bangkok in March 2025.
