Hotraco takes the next step with iHotraco

After the successful launch of iHotraco Farm Data for automatic farm data collection and safe data sharing, Hotraco now introduces iHotraco Farm Manager. With this smart farm management system, users can view barns in real time and simultaneously on a single dashboard, with easy benchmarking to industry standards (i.e. genetic curves) or between barns and farms themselves.

Noble Foods supports the Young Women in Poultry Group

Formed just last year, the Young Women in Poultry Production group is making strides in empowering women within the sector. The group was formed when 10 women in the industry came together for a one-off networking event, hosted by Hipra. The group has since expanded to around 50 members. Among the original members was Becca Goodings, assistant farm manager at Noble Foods. The group has participated in technical workshops on key topics like salmonella and have organised visits to key industry sites, such as the Hemicell manufacturing plant with Elanco. Noble foods is supporting the group with new tech infrastructure, and providing networking and learning opportunities.

September 2024 marks a major milestone for Meyn as the company celebrates 65 years of innovation in the poultry processing industry with cutting-edge technologies and solutions. The company continues to look ahead and plans to launch new products in 2025 and beyond.

Noble Foods unveils new design for Purely Organic eggs

Noble Foods has unveiled a colourful rebrand for Purely Organic – the first since its launch – introducing an entirely new design, updated packaging, and a new website. With its new look, the company aims to reinforce a commitment to nature and sustainability, showcasing the benefits of organic farming and appealing to a growing audience of eco-conscious consumers, who value brands with high welfare and sustainability standards. The new packs are now available in stores across the UK. 

Orffa expands in Asia

Founded in Belgium in 1967, Orffa is now expanding its presence in Asia with the appointment of Ramakanta Nayak as the new managing director for the Asia-Pacific region. Nayak will spearhead initiatives to provide science-driven feed solutions that address the specific needs of Asian livestock producers, with a focus on gut health an immunity, feed efficiency and mineral nutrition.

DSM-Firmenich announces EU authorisation for HiPhorius

DSM-Firmenich has announced the approval of its new generation phytase HiPhorius for all poultry species for fattening or reared for laying or reared for breeding, sows of all Suidae species and all fin fish in the EU. HiPhorius, it says, allows for more efficient phosphorous utilisation and faster and more efficient removal of the potent antinutrient phytate.

Novus partners with Ginkgo Bioworks to develop new feed additives

Novus International and Ginkgo Bioworks, involved in cell programming and biosecurity, have partnered to develop advanced feed additives designed to meet the evolving needs of the animal agriculture industry. Novus will utilise Ginkgo Enzyme Services to build more efficient enzymes that can be produced cost-effectively.

Anpario acquires Bio-Vet in Wisconsin in the US

Anpario Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Anpario plc, the independent manufacturer of natural sustainable animal feed additives for health, nutrition, and biosecurity, announces that it has completed the acquisition of Bio-Vet Inc. Bio-Vet achieved sales of US$8.2 million for the year ending 31 December 2023 and becomes a wholly-owned subsidiary with its 30+ employees, customers and suppliers.

Novus appoints associate director of innovation and business development

Gaurav Shah has joined Novus as the new associate director of innovation and business development. In this newly-created role, he is responsible for routing Novus’ innovation pipeline and strategy, and updating the company’s innovation capabilities. The company is looking for partnerships that match its strategic interests, being animal nutrition and health feed additives that lead to better performance. Shah previously served as business development manager for BioResource International and as global director of the feed digestibility category at Adisseo.
