Scientists gather to draw poultry meat sustainability roadmap

The 6th International Poultry Meat Congress (UBEK), organised by the Association of Poultry Meat Producers and Breeders (BESD-BİR), will be held in Antalya, Turkey, from 1-5 March 2023. The congress will again bring together respected scientists who are worldwide authorities in their fields.

Representing the poultry meat sector at the highest level, the Association of Poultry Meat Producers and Breeders’s (BESD-BİR) International Poultry Meat Congress is the biggest and most important congress organised with international participation. For this 6th edition of the event, BESD- BİR also celebrates its 30th anniversary.

Prof Dr Necmettin Ceylan, who has been the president of UBEK since 2011, stated: “We had to take a break for about 2 years due to the Covid-19 pandemic in UBEK, which is the largest and most important congress organised with international participation in Turkey. We continue our preparations intensively with the determination and motivation to carry our congress to higher points. Our goal is to host you at the 6th UBEK in 2023 with more advanced content and in a more beautiful environment.”

Sustainable production

Ceylan also said that sustainable production and efficiency, self-sufficiency, local production, and logistics services had become the most valuable issues for the poultry meat sector and all sectors. “There is a need to develop different and alternative strategies to rapidly adapt to the new world order. In light of these determinations, it is very important for the poultry meat sector to prepare for the new normal and the future it will bring. We aim to plan the roadmap of the sector in the light of science by discussing the challenges, solutions and new vision experienced worldwide at the 6th UBEK.”

Looking towards the future

Aiming to provide more benefit to humanity by sharing and discussing technology, information and innovations related to the poultry meat sector, the event will be held in Antalya between 1-5 March 2023. Most of the invited speakers have been finalised.

Prof Dr Massimiliano Petracci, Prof Dr Filip Van Immerseel, Associate Prof Dr Henry van den Brand, Prof Dr Birger Svihus are among the world’s leading experts and will speak at the congress. Furthermore, a large-scale fair consisting of stands with many companies where sectoral developments can be seen and examined in many aspects will also offer important contributions and opportunities to the participants. In addition to all these, the 6th UBEK, which will offer rich content with satellite symposiums of 4 different companies, will play an important role in determining the future strategies of the white meat sector with this multifaceted science, technology and industry climate.
