A new training scheme for employees working in the egg sector has been launched by the British Egg Industry Council.
The BEIC said the new scheme would ensure that all employees working within the egg industry had the right training for their position, and proper records were kept of career progression.
Entitled the Lion Training Passport, the scheme will provide a hub that allows professionals to monitor training and easily identify gaps in knowledge.
To ensure validity, all training records are verified and inputted by the scheme administrators at Poultec Training.
Interested parties can register to be part of the new scheme at www.liontrainingpassport.co.uk, which is now live.
Mark Williams, chief executive of the British Egg Industry Council, said: “We believe that great stockmanship and well-trained personnel are vital to the future of the UK egg industry and we also believe that the Lion Training Passport is a fantastic addition to the Code. This scheme will become a vital tool in improving and further endeavouring our workforce. It will help be used to not only help retain staff, but also attract new people into our industry.”
