In a brand new podcast series called FeedChat, Poultry World and All About Feed, together with Trouw Nutrition are addressing several current issues in the international livestock industry. In the latest podcast we are focusing on the threat of antimicrobial resistance.

In the latest FeedChat veterinarian and global programme manager gut health Nienke de Groot shares her thoughts on how to address antimicrobial resistance in poultry production. She focusses on both industry wide actions and on farm practices to prevent microbes to become resistant to the all important antimicrobial drugs.

Fabian Brockötter, editor in chief of Poultry World, interviews the Trouw Nutrition expert on several topics related to the use of antimicrobials and possible alternatives. Leading up to the World Antibiotic Awareness week, initiated by the World Health Organisation, we discuss the important role of farmers and producers in defending against the health threat posed by microbes becoming less susceptive to antibiotics.

In this first episode of FeedChat, Vincent ter Beek (editor of Pig Progress – sister publication of Poultry World) explores the timely topic of mycotoxins together with Trouw Nutrition’s Pedro Miguel Caramona.

Next episodes of the FeedChat series shall follow in the coming weeks and months.
