2009 IPE contest winner announced

Casey R. Waneck of USDA-ARS-SPARC-FFSRU, College Station, TX was awarded at the annual meeting of the Southern Poultry Science Society for her outstanding graduate research presentation.

The 2009 International Poultry Scientific Forum was held 26-27 January, 2009, at the Georgia World Congress Centre in Atlanta, Ga, USA. The forum was sponsored by the Southern Poultry Science Society, the Southern Conference on Avian Diseases, and the US Poultry & Egg Association. The forum presented information on industry topics such as environmental management, nutrition, physiology, pathology, processing and products, and avian diseases.

During this event Casey R. Waneck of USDA-ARS-SPARC-FFSRU, College Station, TX received a Certificate of Achievement for the outstanding graduate student research presentation at the annual meeting of the Southern Poultry Science Society. The topic of this presentation was on “Reducing gangrenous dermatitis: How probiotics can play a role in commercial poultry. Using probiotics: Biomin® PoultryStar”.
