AFDO: Food safety survey

04-03-2009 | |

The Association of Food & Drug Officials has stated that it is carrying out a survey of state food safety programmes to get information on the volume and importance of food safety work performed there.

Previous survey information demonstrated that state and local food safety agencies carry out more than 95% of the food safety inspections in the US when compared to the Food and Drug Administration.

Data from the past surveys also was used to develop federal recommendations about state resource and funding needs.

In previous years, AFDO conducted such a survey in 2001 and 2003.
