Alpharma EMEA’s Poultry Gut Health Seminar

19-11-2008 | |

In October, Alpharma EMEA organised a Poultry Gut Health Seminar in Ghent, Belgium.

At this very successful autumn edition, 30 participants from 9 nationalities were gathered for the 4-day seminar (the Netherlands, UK, Italy, Belgium, Saudi Arabia, Libya, Germany, Switzerland and Austria).

The programme covered different aspects of poultry intestinal health, including regulatory aspects, the importance and monitoring of coccidiosis, prevention tools and the link to bacterial enteritis.

After the theoretical introduction, a practical coccidiosis lesion scoring session at the Veterinary Faculty and exercises on control programmes involved the attendees in an active way.

A lecture by an invited speaker on cross-contamination in feed mills was highly appreciated.

The seminar was concluded by a guided city walk and a visit to Roxell manufacturing poultry equipment.
