Aviagen invest in grandparent poultry farm in Hungary

Aviagen Kft, part of the Aviagen Group, recently celebrated the opening of its latest grandparent farm, Ásványráró, situated in north-west Hungary.

Over 120 people from Aviagen Kft’s customer base in Hungary and surrounding countries, as well as local and regional dignitaries, gathered at the farm prior to the first placement of chicks, which takes place at the end of March.
Guests were welcomed by the Aviagen Team and the farm owner, Ron Jacobs and given a detailed tour of the farm, with special emphasis put on the vigorous biosecurity standards. The state-of-the-art equipment and systems in place were, according to the compnay, also demonstrated, with this farm being equipped with the most modern equipment available.
General manager, Aviagen Kft, Nick Spenceley: “The continued increase in Aviagen’s farming capacity in Hungary can only be achieved through solid partnerships… Each new farm incorporates the most up-to-date technology. We also use new technology to promote bird welfare and health. Ásványráró farm includes new lighting and egg sanitising technology, There is no internal steel work which will also help with hygiene.”
