It seems that British consumers are listening to the advice of the Food Standards Agency and other organisations. Consumers in England show good common sense as shopping habits have stayed the same after the bird flu outbreak, according to the NFU (National Farmers Union).
“We have contacted the major supermarkets and they have seen no significant dip in consumers buying poultry products,” said Peter Kendall, NFU president. He also says that the British public id to be thanked for acknowledging the advice being given to them that properly cooked poultry meat and eggs were safe to eat.
