CAHE: over 150,000 visitors and truly international

The 12th edition of the China Animal Husbandry Expo (CAHE), held in Qingdao attracted over 150,000 visitors and over 200 international exhibitors. Visitors were also introduced to ‘World of Animal Husbandry’, a new magazine published by Reed Business Media (publisher of AllAboutFeed, Pig Progress and World Poultry).

CAHE is organised by the China Animal Agriculture Association (CAAA) and took place from 18-20 May. The show attracted around 150,000 visitors, of which approximately 76,000 visited the show on the first day. In the last ten years, this show has grown tremendously; the floor space has increased from 20,000 m2 to 80,000 m2, the number of exhibitors has increased from 400 to 1400, and the professional visitors have tripled to 100,000.

Dutch expertise showcased

This edition of the show was also the first time that CAHE had the official label ‘International’, which was reflected in the large number of exhibitors from outside China (over 200 from the 1400 exhibitors). In addition, countries also presented themselves through the ‘country pavilions’, such as the Netherlands, Denmark and France. The ‘Holland Pavilion’ was the biggest and showcased a number of innovative products from Dutch based companies Nedap, Pigtek, CID Lines, Hotraco, Fancom, Nutreco and De Heus among others.

New Chinese magazine launched

The Dutch Meat & Feed Centre, Orange Pig and Orange Poultry had a stage where new products where launched and speeches were held on the Netherlands and its relation with China. Reed Business Media, publisher of World Poultry, pig Progress and AllAboutFeed proudly presented the first Chinese magazine ‘World of Animal Husbandry’ on this stage. Roel Leferink, editorial director at Reed Business Media was present to launch the magazine and was introduced by Ina Enting (DMFC) and Berry Wang acted as translator.

The next CAHE will be held in May 2015.
