Standard methods for diagnosing coccidiosis or assessing its clinical impact may be potentially misleading, time-consuming and expensive. Direct microscopical examination of the fresh intestinal mucosae of culled birds facilitates an immediate, reliable clinical assessment and combines speed and practicality.
