European Poultry Conference opens in Stavanger

On Tuesday 23rd June, the XIVth European Poultry Conference opened its doors in Stavanger, Norway. Poultry specialists from all continents flocked to this small city.

Under guidance of the European Federation of the Worlds’ Poultry Association (WPSA), the European Poultry Conference (EPC) takes place in a European city once every four years. This time the venue is Stavanger in Norway.

Here around 1000 poultry scientists will gather together this week to share and exchange knowledge and research findings on all kinds of topics in poultry production.

“Gaining knowledge with a smile”, is the slogan the organisers have given to EPC 2014. By that, their aim is “to combine the straightforward and informal matter-of-factly Norwegian culture, with hospitality and professionalism at the highest level”. In total, 167 verbal presentations will take place. Apart from these presentations, another 288 posters presentations have also been sent in. All in all this makes EPC 2014 an informative and comprehensive event.

During the first day of the conference, the city of Dubrovnik in Croatia was elected by the European Federation to host the next European Poultry Conference in 2018.
