Some city legislators are currently pushing for a ban on foie gras, however, a group of Philadelphia chefs are together showing their support for the delicacy.
Approximately 20 restaurants are participating in a week-long foie gras promotion, including Chef Michael McNally of London Grill, who plans to serve a variety of the foie gras dishes. “It’s a freedom of choice thing,” he said, adding “We don’t want people telling us what to do.”
However, on the other end of the scale is Philadelphia City Councilman Jack Kelly, who states that he is against the torture of any animals to make the goose or duck liver delicacy.
