Gainco’s high-speed poultry portion classifier

High-speed in-motion sizing, a wide variety of parts distribution and a design to aid easy access to components are advantages claimed for a poultry portion classifying machine by its manufacturer.

The new 9-inch AccuSizer portion classifier from Gainco is specifically designed for handling items such as breast fillets and butterflies, wings, tenders, drums, thighs, whole legs and other smaller food portions weighing less than two pounds and shorter than 10 inches in length. It can process both fresh or quick-frozen products, said the company.

Cost-effective
The units are engineered to be both cost-effective and user-friendly, said the US firm, citing features such as an IP69K-rated touchscreen interface with graphical displays and multi-language communications. The all-new tubeless frame design reduces vibration, enhances bacteria control and reduces cleaning time.

Reduced product damage
Other notable design features claimed include a pull-off arm that reduces the incidence of product damage during discharge, and conveyor belting, produced by Habasit AG Corporation, that provides durability at the weigh deck while also improving sanitation.
