It has been announced that poultry litter and bone meal are to be used as the energy source of a new power station to be built in Northern Ireland. The power station is estimated to cost around €134m.

It has been reported that Rose Energy is to ask for planning permission to set up the plant near Glenavy, County Antrim.
“What we’re talking about is a plant that will use agricultural by-products that will generate 30 megawatts of electricity,” Mike Alcorn of Rose Energy said.
