Korea receives first batch of salmonella and E. coli test kits

Magna Medical Services, Inc. has announced that it has entered into an exclusive distribution agreement with Sangrok Medical of Seoul, Korea, a leader in diagnostic testing equipment.

Sangrok will stock MMS Quick Results Food Testing kits for the Korean Market, as well as individual kits for E.coli, Salmonella and combination food testing kits for commercial food groups. These are the first tests that are instant (results in as little as 30 minutes), easy to use, and relatively inexpensive.
“We are very pleased to have Sangrok Medical as part of our international distribution team,” says Robert J. Greene, vice president and general manager of Magna Medical Services, Inc.
Salmonella bacteria are found particularly in poultry, and causes food poisoning in humans. The MMS Salmonella strip can detect 50 of the most common and deadliest strains. The strips are submerged in food samples; if the organism is present the strip will change colour.
E. coli is a bacteria found in the lower intestines of warm-blooded animals. “There are literally thousands of varieties of E.Coli, but only the most common and deadliest strains such as 0157:H7 are set for detection in the MMS E.coli strip,” says Greene.
