30-03-2010 | |

Dutch Minsier for Agriculture – Gerda Verburg – has made a start with a pilot project that aims at total antibiotic-free production at pig and poultry farms.

This project is developed by the Dutch Innovation Network. The pig farm chain “”De Hoeve” and the poultry chains “GPS” and “Lagerweij” are joining the project.

The Dutch Ministry of Agriculture is investing €840,000 in the project and the three chains together contribute €290,000. If succesful, the three chains will not use any antibiotic on their farms in the future.
