Nominations for advisory committee on foreign poultry diseases

Nominations have opened for 2-year membership appointments to the committee that advises the US Secretary of Agriculture on actions necessary to prevent foreign livestock and poultry diseases in the US.

The committee also advises the Secretary on contingency planning and maintaining a state of preparedness to deal with any introduced diseases.
Members for this committee will be selected so that the broadest representation is possible. Once the committee has been formed, a chairperson and vice chairperson will be elected by members.
Consideration will be given to nominations received on or before 7 January, 2008.
