Aviagen expands US operations

To further strengthen the health, welfare and biosecurity of its birds, Aviagen hosted a grand opening event at its Elkmont, Alabama campus in the US to mark the completion of a new veterinary services building, along with the expansion of the facility’s existing diagnostic laboratory, which was highlighted with a tour of the lab’s features. The extra 700sqm has nearly doubled the existing floor space.

New Cobb Hatchery Management Guide

The new Cobb Hatchery Management Guide is the latest in updates and introductions and includes the company’s latest recommendations based on breed performance, current scientific knowledge, and practical field experience from around the world. The guide covers topics including hatchery humidity, machinery, and cooling systems and has extensive new information and updates.

Evonik launches effervescent tablet probiotic

Evonik‘s Animal Nutrition business line has launched Ecobiol Fizz, the first probiotic for chickens in effervescent tablet form, now available in Europe. The product contains a microbial strain of the species Bacillus amyloliquefaciens and is used to stabilise the intestinal microbiota of broilers and chickens reared for laying, especially during stressful periods. Farmers can apply the product via the water line. One effervescent tablet is sufficient for 1,000 litres of water, and according to the company, its homogeneity is proven for at least 24 hours.

Evonik launches myAMINO digital portal

Evonik expands its service offering for animal nutrition customers with a new digital portal, ‘myAMINO’, the first digital point of contact for customers. In addition to 2 online stores, myAMINO offers customers access to products, services, information, training, contacts, partners, and order management for Animal Nutrition.

Royal Pas Reform expands in Indonesia

Jakarta-based poultry vertical integrator, Widodo Makmur Unggas, has opened its latest broiler breeding farm and hatchery at Tonggor, in the Yogjakarta region of Java, Indonesia. With a capacity of 24 million day-old chicks per year, the new facility is equipped with incubators, hatchery automation and climate control systems from Royal Pas Reform.

ADM’s Wisium premixes available in eastern Canada

ADM has launched its Wisium premix and nutrition services brand into eastern Canada, benefitting customers in Quebec, Ontario and Maritimes. For poultry businesses, Wisium provides its Egg Quality Concept, which is a nutrition programme designed to improve layer performance and egg quality. It also offers PURlite, a litter conditioner with absorbent, as well as Near Infrared Technologies offering quick predictions of nutrient values to ensure quality of raw materials and finished feeds.

InnovaFeed and ADM plan world’s largest insect protein plant

French biotech company InnovaFeed and US grain processor ADM have unveiled plans to build the world’s largest insect protein plant in Illinois in the US. The plant is set to produce 60,000 tonnes of animal feed protein yearly from the nutritious black soldier fly, along with 20,000 tonnes of oils for poultry and swine rations and 400,000 tonnes of fertiliser. The construction of the facility is planned for next year, pending approvals and permits.

Phosphea announces the integration of Nuwen animal nutrition activities

To boost its development, Nuwen animal nutrition activities are now integrated into Phosphea, strengthening the range of nutritional solutions based on macro-minerals from Phosphea. The 3 ranges of products currently based on macro-minerals are the Essential range made up of ground elements for the growth and well-being of animals (calcium phosphates, calcium carbonate, sodium bicarbonate, urea and salt), the Performance range made up of specific ingredients adapted to species (CalseaPowder, MAP, Neophos, Mag26), and the Evolution range, containing innovative natural ingredients geared toward health and animal well-being (CalseaGrow).

Lallemand strengthens its global poultry team

Lallemand Animal Nutrition welcomes to the team Corinne Morvan, Aviguard product manager and poultry technical deployer, and Isalie Bénéditti, marketing coordinator for poultry and swine solutions. Morvan brings more than 20 years of experience in poultry nutrition and breeding (management, biosecurity, and welfare), and Bénéditti brings expertise on topics such as building the brand image and launching a digital communication strategy.
