Organic certification for oregano supplement

Ropadiar, the oregano-based supplement for livestock, has been certified for inclusion in pig and poultry diets by Organic Farmers and Growers (OF&G), a leading UK organic control body.

The patented product developed by Ropapharm International is distributed in the UK by Suffolk-based GE Baker Ltd (Quality Equipment). It contains highly-effective oregano oils that reportedly has a positive effect on feed intake, particularly during periods of high performance, contributing to the well-being of the birds, or pigs, and thus improving profit.

Normally included in the diet at the rate of around 1 kg per tonne, as a natural product it requires no withdrawal period.

“Ropadiar has already been used successfully in the UK and we are pleased that organic farmers can now benefit from its inclusion in feed,” commented G E Baker director, Graham Baker. “Independent tests have shown that Ropadiar has significantly more active ingredient than other oregano-based additives,” he added.
