People: JBS chief exec Australia takes helm of US operations

Brazilian meatpacking giant JBS announced that its current chief executive for Australia, Andre Nogueira, will take the helm of the company’s US operations at the start of next year.

Nogueira will gradually assume the responsibilities of his US counterpart, Don Jackson, before formally becoming president and CEO of JBS USA on January 1, JBS said in a stock-market filing.

Jackson is retiring but will remain a board member at JBS’s Pilgrim’s Pride unit.

Nogueira will become responsible for all the company’s operations in the US and Australia, which is included in JBS USA, and report directly to JBS’s top executive, CEO Wesley Batista.

Nogueira has served five years in executive-level positions at JBS and claims more than 20 years of experience in the financial and banking sectors, the company said.

JBS’s beef, chicken and pork operations in the US and Australia represent more than 60% of the company’s total revenue.
