Possible new poultry processing plant in the US

Livingston, Calif.-based poultry processor Foster Farms is considering opening a new processing complex in Colorado, reports Meatingplace.

“A final decision is expected within the next two to three months based on availability of a sufficient labour force and contract grower interest in raising poultry,” Foster Farms President Don Jackson said in a statement. “In considering expansion, the company believes there is a market need for fresh, 100% natural, locally grown poultry products in Colorado and the surrounding region.”
It has been reported that the new plant would be located somewhere in northeast Colorado and employ approx. 1,000 people.
