Poultry science department raises $18,000 for scholarships

More than $18,000 was raised by 30 teams for scholarships during the eighth annual University of Arkansas Poultry Science Scholarship Golf Tournament.

Major sponsors for the tournament included Cobb-Vantress Inc., FPEC (Food Processing Equipment Co.) and Marel Food Systems. Arkansas Farm Bureau also sponsored by donating balls, towels and tees for each participant. Harps Food Stores Inc., donated snacks for goody bags and InTents donated the use of two “hospitality” tents to use on the course.
The following companies participated in or donated to the tournament: Aerotech, Alpharma, Aviagen, Barnhill Poultry, Big Dutchman, Biomune, Cobb-Vantress, CTB (Chore-Time), Degussa, Dixon Poultry, Embrex, Farm Bureau, First Financial Bank, FPEC, General Chemical, H.J. Baker, Huvepharma, Hubbard Farms, Intervet, JBS United, Marel Food Systems, Multi-Craft Contractors, Pilgrim’s Foods, Roxell Inc., and Tyson Foods Inc.
This particular poultry started eight years ago, and has since raised over $140,000 for sponsorships in the department.
