Russian egg producer Sinyavinskaya has put into operation three new poultry houses with a capacity of 750 million eggs per year each, according to Meat Russia.
This makes Sinyavinskaya the largest egg producer in the Leningrad Region. Main competitor Roskar produces only 620 million eggs per year.
The total value of investments in the new complex construction amounts to 3 billion rubles (€75.6m), where 2 billion (€50.4m) were provided by Sberbank (Savings Bank of the Russian Federation).
Notwithstanding the crisis, the company’s management relies on a stable financing of the project.
12 new poultry houses
Next year another 12 state-of-the-art poultry houses are to be built, and by 2011 their total number will be 18.
The forecasted production capacity of the new facility will be about 1.25 billion eggs per year.
According to general director Nikita Melnikov, the state-of-the-art facility will significantly reduce the use electric power, and increase production capacity 10-fold.
Melnikov said that even by 2011, when the project is fully implemented, Sinyavinskaya will be able to take about 70% market share of North-western Federal District. Its current market share is 40%.
Export of eggs expected
Apart from that, the management of Sinyavinskaya is also planning to export products to Europe in the nearest future.
Currently the Sinyavinskaya poultry farm annually produces over 650 million eggs, 1,500 tonnes of meat and 600 tonnes of egg powder.
Egg production has becoming more and more attractive sector for investors. Demand is constantly growing.
However, the number of producers is decreasing. The majority of companies specialize in poultry meat production. Roskar and Severnaya intend to increase their chicken meat production as well.
