USDA will host COOL informational sessions

The US Department of Agriculture’s Agricultural Marketing Service will host three informational sessions about country-of-origin labelling.

This is aimed at providing detailed information about COOL to growers, packers, suppliers, handlers, retailers, consumers and other interested parties.
The sessions will take place at the following locations:
• Sept. 26: College Station, Texas
9 a.m. – 12 p.m. CT
Texas A&M University
Rudder Tower Complex, Room 601
• Oct. 7: Lakeville, Minnesota
1:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. CT
Holiday Inn Hotel and Suites, Minneapolis-Lakeville
• Oct. 9: Los Angeles
1:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. PT
Marriott Renaissance Montura Hotel Los Angeles Airport
Effective 30 September, the 2002 and 2008 farm bills require COOL for all beef, pork, lamb, goat, chicken, fresh and frozen fruit and vegetable, peanut, pecan, ginseng and macadamia nut covered commodities sold by designated retailers.
