VIV China kicks off in Beijing

In the Chinese capital Beijing, animal trade show VIV China is taking place this week. Yesterday, Tuesday Sept 23, the show doors opened for this biennial exhibition.

Entitled “China Livestock Industry Week 2014”, VIV China covers all major elements involved in livestock farming, with focus on poultry, swine and aquaculture. It all started last Sunday, Sept 21 with the well-attended three day International China summit, consisting of the Aquatic China conference, international poultry forum China, pork Outlook and all kinds of walk in sessions.

Specialists on a wide range of topics presented their papers to the audience which came from all corners of China and other countries in Asia.

Now only the tradeshow is running, and also here attendance is good. “It’s not just the numbers of visitors which is satisfying, we particularly register a high level of decision makers”, says show manager Ruwan Berculo. “Again also not just from all corners of China, but also from various other Asian countries like Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia and others. We expect by around 15% of our visitors to come from countries outside China.”

Compared to two years ago, the show now includes one more hall. That’s not because we have more exhibitors, but because they have booked more floor space. It also demonstrates that exhibitors are convinced about the growth potential of the animal production market in China and the confidence they have in the future in this part of the world”, Ruwan Berculo concludes.

VIV China is running two more days and ends on Thursday, Sept 25, 14:00 hrs.
