VIV Europe will take place as scheduled

The unfortunate situation at many airports in Europe as a consequence of the volcanic eruption in Iceland, will have considerable impact on VIV Europe. It will be difficult for many passengers to reach The Netherlands. Yet VIV Europe will take place as scheduled.

After careful consideration and balancing all interest involved, the VIV Europe staff came to the following conclusions:

1) VIV Europe will take place as planned in Utrecht, the Netherlands from April 20 to 22. A postponement will have even bigger impact. All arrangements by exhibitors, visitors and organisers have been made. It is impossible to change so many arrangements (stand construction, personnel, catering, promotion, travelling, hotel reservations, visa arrangements etc. ) at such short notice. Build-up hours on Monday, April 19 will be prolonged for late arrivals.

2) The VIV Europe staff is constantly monitoring the situation at Schiphol Airport and will inform all exhibitors and pre-registered visitors immediately once the airport is re-opened.

3) VIV organisers realise that international visitor numbers can be affected by the closure of the airports and that some exhibitors will be delayed on arrival or might not even be able to come.  The staff is looking for measures to minimise the damage for everybody concerned and will keep you updated on developments!

VIV Europe show director Gerard Leeuwenburgh realises that this situation could not be foreseen and asks for everybody’s understanding and cooperation. “We are all facing the same trouble and must try to make the best out of this unfavourable situation”.

From Sunday morning 09.00 AM (Netherlands time) a hotline is available to answer questions on this matter. The VIV management asks to forward this message to everybody who is planning to attend VIV Europe. Please visit the website of VIV Europe to stay updated.
