At the final day of VIV Europe in Utrecht, the Netherlands, show manager Ruwan Berculo handed out awards to the winners of the innovation contest.
Prior to the show, the public could vote via the internet. Everyone visiting the VIV website, could vote who in their view would be the company supplying the most innovative product. Also during the show, there was an option to vote for the favourite product at the innovation gallery.
In total 38 products were nominated for products in four different categories: hatchery & breeding, farming & housing, health & nutrition and processing.
Within these categories, the award for hatchery & breeding went to the new Hatch Care system of Hatchtech. The lipid evaluation test of Kemin was awarded in the category Health & Nutrition. The award for Farming & Housing went to Hotraco for their Fortica Poultry computer. Marel Stork Poultry Processing won the award in the category Processing for their “New reference in whole product distribution”. They also received the most public votes, making them also the overall winner of the VIV Europe 2014 innovation award.
