Canada: Operations suspended for Ontario egg producer

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has suspended the registration of Beking Poultry Farm, a federally registered shell egg producer in Oxford Station, Ontario, effective July 9, 2013.

The registration was suspended because the operator was not meeting the standards for the Canada A grade as stated in the Egg Regulations. Specifically, CFIA inspectors consistently discovered a large number of cracks in eggs from this facility. There is no recall associated with this suspension.

The operator has failed to implement proper corrective actions to effectively resolve the issue.

Beking Poultry Farm (#0-66) will not be able to resume operations under federal jurisdiction until they have fully implemented the necessary corrective actions and the CFIA is confident that the required standards can be consistently maintained.
